So, tix are booked - Arrive Antalya 2/1 and fly back to Istanbul (and then back to Denver, CO ) on the 27th of Feb leaving me about 25 days to do the walk. I have ordered the book online and am somewhat puzzled by the secrecy that surrounds this walk. When I walked the Camino de Santiago it was such an open community of people sharing maps, coordinates (for the 'primitivo' which is very similar to the SPT) and other information.
A question - I do understand this trail has been created / written about and proposed as a cultural and tourist attraction by one of the founders of this site and forum. However, there is NO other information about this ANYWHERE on the internet. I would've expected that (had the trail been around for a while) there would be sites with rough routes (not expecting GPS locations or waypoints) published somewhere, but Nada !!
I also see that many of the posts on the various sections in this forum are by people that are guides or otherwise have a vested interest in the tourists and hikers.
If this is something that the Turkish ministry of Tourism has accepted as a cultural attraction then wouldn't you expect some mention other than in a couple of articles in newspapers and the local version of the National Geographic ??
Other than the book is there ANY resource that mentions this ?
thanks
